UNITED KINGDOM, 4 NOVEMBER 2026 — A singer who reached the final 33 workshop stage of ITV’s original Popstars is putting a different kind of host behind the microphone. Future Karaoke combines a licensed Sunfly song catalogue, automated voice hosting, phone song requests and a big-screen stage in a Windows or Mac app, giving pubs the tools to run their own hosted karaoke nights.

The idea is simple: make the practical work of a karaoke night flow, and give the room more of the show. Guests scan a QR code, browse the songbook and request a song in their phone browser. Future Karaoke organises the queue, introduces singers and calls up the next performer. Lyrics and show visuals fill the venue screen, while staff retain control of the queue, playback and announcements.

The singer gets the big moment

With the optional Big Red Button enabled, the singer can start their prepared song from the phone they used to request it, once the introduction is complete. Online song requests can travel over mobile data, so guests do not have to join the venue’s Wi-Fi. The host computer stays connected to the internet.

Between performances, background music and venue announcements help keep the evening moving. Classic Stage gives compatible everyday computers the audience-screen essentials, with built-in looks and options for a venue’s own photos, video and slideshow backgrounds.

Working karaoke jockeys can also use My KJ Voice: with the voice owner’s explicit consent, a guided recording can create a voice-only assistant for singer call-ups and announcements. The KJ can hand over to the assistant and reclaim manual control without interrupting the current singer. It is a way to carry a presenter’s vocal identity into the software, with controls to disable or delete the cloned voice.

Built by someone who knows the stage

Developer James took part as James Mason in ITV’s original 2001 Popstars, reaching the final 33 workshop stage in London. It was the series that formed Hear’Say and featured Myleene Klass. His contestant profile and interview appear in the official companion book. The software connection was already there: the book describes him as designing websites at the time.

James also toured as a singer with the Memphis Belle Orchestra and has performed at hundreds of UK venues. Future Karaoke brings that experience to the software: the anticipation of being called up, the courage of a first-time singer and the satisfaction of a whole room joining a chorus. Elyese brings experience of restaurant ownership in Margate and live entertainment.

The ambition is a complete karaoke night with personality: the songs, the hosting and the audience experience working together. Venues can run a night without booking a separate karaoke presenter, while their own team remains responsible for welcoming singers and looking after the room.

A regular night, within reach

The Early Adopter Venue Plan is offered at an introductory £79 per month. It includes the licensed Sunfly karaoke catalogue, automated hosting, a venue software licence, Classic Stage, phone requests, show controls, software updates, remote support and 110,000 AI voice characters each month. That is around £2.60 a day, calculated as £79 × 12 ÷ 365 and rounded; billing is monthly.

Venues provide a compatible Windows PC or Mac, an internet connection, microphones, a suitable sound system and a lyrics screen. The subscription supplies software and the stated services; sound equipment is separate. Venues remain responsible for any public-performance permissions required for their premises and use.

Journalists can try the interactive browser demo without an account or download, or contact Future Karaoke for an interview, screenshots or a demonstration. The main app is available for Windows and Mac; current requirements and offer details are published on the website.
